CP 25 Mix#1
Meets USDA criteria for CRP and NRCS standard #643 for rare
and declining habitat restoration. This native grass mix
is heavy on the 4 most common tall, warm-season grasses.
This mix provides excellent winter habitat and superior loafing
and rooster cover conditions.
CP 25 Mix#2
Meets USDA criteria for CRP and NRCS standard #643 for rare and declining
habitat restoration. Because most fields are not flat and vary in soil
conditions, it is critical to have a variety of grass and forbs
species in your planting. This diverse mix was designed to handle
wetlands, alkali areas, or gravel spots. The combination of cool-and-warm-season
plants means this mix can provide for more of the birds' seasonal habitat needs.
And, the higher proportion of forbs means more food and insects for all
wildlife. This mix is recommended for larger fields with varying soil types.
CP 23 Mix#3
Meets USDA criteria for CRP wetland planting and NRCS standard #657 wetland restoration.
This is a basic cool-season mix that provides adequate early season nesting cover and
can be planted with a conventional grain drill. |
CP 23 Mix#4
Meets USDA criteria for CRP wetland planting and NRCS standard #657
for wetland restoration. With a tall, upright growth pattern, the 3 grasses
provide excellent vertical cover from predators and harsh winter weather.
Alfalfa in the mix attracts more insects for brood food and provides
visual obstruction from avian predators. During blizzard conditions,
the cover folds over rather than laying flat and provides great hiding
places for winter weary birds to spend the night.
CP 2 Mix#5
Meets USDA criteria for CRP and NRCS standard #327 for conservation cover.
The red clover in this mix provides among the best canopies of any
rangeland plant for reducing avian predation. The broadleaf growth
habit and plentiful flowers also attract a large amount of
insects, providing food for nesting hens and growing chicks.
The stiff, upright grass stems fends off brutal South Dakota winters.
This mix provides quality nesting, brood rearing, roosting, and winter cover as well
as outstanding shooting cover.
